Hi Erik,

phpMyAdmin seems configured by default in WAMP to be looking for the user ‘root’ with no password. You could get into it on your local machine by using the username ‘root’ with no password. Of course, this would not be secure on an actual server.

To answer your question, you can change phpMyAdmin’s settings in a config file. This page explains how: read me!

thank you for the great turotial
got this problem after i followed every step of creating a new password, i got this error now everytime i use phpMyAdmin from the wamp console

#1045 – Access denied for user ‘root’@'localhost’ (using password: NO)

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

now i didnt forgot my password i just dont know where to log in.
After i click the phpMyAdmin from the tray, it goes straight to the error page, where should i input my new password ?
